Apart from juicy roast turkey and Black Friday, another thing that remains constant for Thanksgiving every year is the great Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade which has been an annual event since 1924.

Held by Macy’s, the American department store chain, the three-hour parade featuring gigantic balloons and star-studded performers takes place every year on a Thanksgiving morning, kicking off from the heart of Manhattan and ending at Macy’s Herald Square (the chain’s largest store). Dubbed as the world’s largest parade, audiences can expect nothing short of extravagance.

For their 95th parade this year, the performer lineup includes famed figures like Kelly Rowland, Carrie Underwood, Kristin Chenoweth, Nelly, Darren Criss and even K-Pop girl group, aespa. But let’s face it; the balloon lineup is what really gets us all excited for the parade. This year, the march featured over 15 balloons along with 28 floats. Some of the giant balloons have been featured for the first time and some have been part of the parade for 13 years in a row. The highlights for this year include Pikachu and Eevee, Funko Pop!-inspired Grogu, Ada Twist, Scientist from Netflix, Astronaut Snoopy, SpongeBob SquarePants with Gary and more. Here’s our gallery of this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade just in case you missed the parade – pure cuteness overload, that’s all we can say about the event.
