Apart from a great discovery from Brazil that jararacussu snake’s venom could be the hope for covid cures, another great news this month is dining in is back for Bangkok!

Although September has greeted Bangkokians with humidity and pouring rain, Bangkok discerning diners – like us – are not afraid to embrace the rainfall to visit some of our favourite restaurants in the city. Here’s our roundup of restaurants that we’ve been longing to revisit and relish their scrumptious spread of offerings.

JHOL

Prepare to take off on a roller coaster  flavour ride with JHOL. Helmed by Chef Hari Nayak, a restaurateur and a cookbook author who’s also the genius mind behind the menu at Priyanka Chopra’s new restaurant in NYC, JHOL serves up a golden standard of Southern Coastal Indian fare, tried and tested. Slated to reopen on 9 September, JHOL is one of the top-three must-visit Bangkok restaurants to add to your #RadarList if what you crave for is sophistication and succulence.

Rong Sabiang

For farm-to-fork fare, head over to RONG Sabiang set by Sansiri Backyard where ardent farmers (whom we know and love) raise a small organic chicken farm and grow everything from lemons to zucchini and carrots. Making use of the pristine produce grown just a stone’s throw away, the restaurant churns out a scrumptious medley of Thai and Western dishes, highlighting the freshness of farm produce from next door.

Petits Plats

Looking for a taste as bright and vibrant as summer and the hot heat of Bangkok? Then the Mediterranean flavours at Petits Plats might be just what you’re after. The restaurant serves up French Mediterranean cuisine and the must-eat dishes include snails with garlic butter, baby mussels in white wine sauce, linguine pasta with lobster and butter-bathed pan-fried dover sole.

El Hefe

Why wait until Taco Tuesday when you can make everyday a fan-taco-tastic day at El Hefe. The venue doles out an impressive selection of Mexican staples – think quesadilla, tacos, burritos and enchiladas. For breakfast and brunch buffs, their all-day breakfast menu might be just what you’re looking for. Tuck into their Chorizo N Egg Burrito, Breakfast Quesadilla and Vegan Chorizo Burrito created specially for plant-based foodies.

ASOK Pi SHOP

For a game-changing flatbread experience, head over to ASOK Pi SHOP. Here, flatbread is put in the limelight; it’s anything but a side player. Opt for The Cheese City where the flatbread is covered in an avalanche of cheese and bejewelled with a sun-hued egg yolk or try the Ode to Zanotti in which the perfectly blistered bread is topped with a rain of grated cheese and ribbons of parma ham.
