Vodka is synonymous with iconic cocktails such as the Martini, Salty Dog and the Cosmopolitan — but how often do we drink it neat? Well, perhaps the next time you happen upon a Belvedere 10 in its space-age, diamond-inspired bottle, you should.

Vodka is traditionally a clear, unaged alcoholic spirit with no flavour or aroma. It is made from water and diluted ethyl alcohol or ethanol by fermenting cereal grains and potatoes. However, what sets Belvedere 10 apart is that it is crafted in small batches from a single harvest from the same rye field.

Drawing from its 600-year-old Polish vodka-making history and following the same meticulous creation process that was used in 1910 when the distillery was first established, the luxury house of LVMH has created/crafted Belvedere 10 for a new/discerning audience. At the Belvedere Distillery located in Zyrardow, Poland, the mission of one rye, one farm, one field, one harvest is followed through in this recipe that has been remastered with the focus on the finest vodka which can be enjoyed on its own.

Heritage organic Dankowskie Diamond rye undergoes selection, harvest, heating and fermentation, which is followed by a quadruple distillation which sees small batch distillation through copper columns at the Belvedere Distillery, elevating the character and depth of the rye. The spirit is rested for 10 months to develop extraordinary texture and smoothness.  

Belvedere, which takes its name from the “Belweder”-  the Polish presidential palace in Warsaw whose illustration appears on each bottle – was introduced in 1993 and is part of the LVMH luxury brand portfolio. 31 years later, you too, can enjoy Belvedere 10.  With only 8000 bottles produced each harvest, it is a worthy addition to any spirits collection. Expect notes of citrus, coconut, honey, nuts & vanilla, Belvedere 10 is best enjoyed neat, or with a splash of ice.
