Yes, we do love a simple night out to our go-to restaurants, ordering our usual. But there are times when regular dining just won’t do and those times usually call for something exquisite and unfamiliar for a little change of scenery, and of course, flavours,

Here are our picks of Bangkok restaurants and bars that will surprise you with a one of a kind experience.

Na-Oh Bangkok

For a so-darn-fly dining experience, try Na-oh Bangkok – a fine dining restaurant set in an out-of-use plane. Serving up futuristic fare, the menu here promotes gastronomic innovation that aims to take diners for a wild ride through a borderless culinary world. The food here doesn’t emphasize a particular cuisine. Instead, the theme changes every few months. The interior of the aeroplane-turned-dining room is adorned with decorative lights, antiques and stuffed animals, lending an old-world feel that is contrary to the contemporary food they serve. As a result, the restaurant gives off an uncanny, yet uniquely elegant vibe that guests will remember.

Sirimahannop

From a historic Royal Thai navy ship to a luxe dining destination, the over-water restaurant docked at Asiatique by the Chao Phraya River, Sirimahannop, is one of the city’s must-visit venues thanks to its rich history, charm and scrumptious dishes. The venue churns out a “boatload” of stellar fare, both Western and Thai, as well as killer beverages to impress and delight discerning diners.

Tichuca

Walking into Tichuca is like immersing yourself in a scene from the Avatar movie. The new(ish) Bangkok bar with a jungle theme brings the tropical forest to the rooftop bar scene and its first and foremost mission is to keep Bangkok bargoers in a fine-apple spirit every night of the week. Situated on the 46th floor of the T-ONE Building, the bar offers guests one of the best city views, with the main highlight being the gigantic, LED-led tree that creates a fantasy feel to the bar.
