Beth Wright

Can you tell our readers a bit about yourself? 

Hi, I am Beth. I am a lawyer, functional medicine practitioner, nutritionist, and health & fitness coach. I specialise in personalised programmes, fat loss, and helping women and men understand their hormones to achieve optimal health and vitality. I offer 1:1 and group programmes through my business, B-Fit the Wright Way which covers everything from a specific physique goal or transformation to hormone-related issues for women and men of all ages. 

As a coach, over the years I noticed that a one-size-fits-all approach simply doesn’t work. Fat loss, energy levels, sleep, libido, focus and zest for life all comes down to our hormones, our lifestyles and how we feel. So, I started offering personalised programmes to help people understand their hormones, and how to make lifestyle changes to create real lasting change and work with them towards their end goals. Often, I see mums or busy professionals (or both!) who put everyone else first before themselves. Then, they feel depleted, often lose confidence, and are unable to achieve their goals. I help my clients put themselves first and make sure they get the results they want and deserve. This works because it outsources the responsibility to someone else to help you make the right lifestyle choices. My clients then reach their goals which are incredibly liberating and empowering. 

I offer 1:1 body transformation programmes for women and men covering all types of goals from fat loss to body composition, hormone optimisation or just to feel as if you have a spring in your step
(or to fit into a special dress on a special day!) I also run a very popular group metabolic reset programmes for men and women 3-4 x. a year and most recently have set up an online specific programme for women going through peri / menopausal age group with a medical practitioner. I work with clients all around the world so no matter where you are or what you need help with – I can assist.

What does wellness mean to you?

Wellness is holistic, multi-faceted and never just one thing. In functional medicine, we use something called the Wheel of Wellness which is a wellness model that represents eight dimensions of wellness: spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical, social, environmental, financial, and occupational. It’s a fun exercise to try to fill in the wheel to see which areas you are doing well in and which could do with some work! I try and do it once every 6 months. You will notice that at different times of your life you might place greater emphasis on one area over another and it is important to notice which areas fall off and need to be addressed. During Covid, I saw my social interactions dramatically reduce, so I am working hard to make sure that I spend quality time with friends and family to fill up that part of my wellness wheel! I simply like to remind myself to follow my own path and journey. To not compare myself to others and to focus on how far I have come and where I am and where I am going! I love the saying, “Be you, Do You, For You”.

Can you tell our readers a bit about yourself? 

Hi, I am Sarah Keates. I am a public relations professional and business owner.  I founded a PR agency, White Orchid Insights (WOI) after 15 years in multinational agencies and organisations. WOI is a communications and public relations agency serving multiple industries including the wellness sector. I was born, raised, and educated in the UK before moving to Hong Kong in 2012. I spent a glorious decade in Asia and became passionate about running, yoga, fitness, and wellness. I am mum to two beautiful children and we’re currently living in the UK. 

What does wellness mean to you?

It’s a balance of self-improvement, self-compassion, and commitment to self-care. For me, this means looking after myself sufficiently so that I can achieve the things that matter the most to me. An element of this is the basics – sleep, nutrition, hydration, and stress management. But for me, wellness is also about getting real with the hard parts of life and working through solutions with help. So as much as I would love my wellness to be only about ocean-side runs, endless yoga, and green juice – it’s actually much messier than that. A commitment to being well means facing the hardest parts of my life head-on: single parenting, anxiety, depression, finances, responsibilities, trauma, abuse, and working through those with an open heart and mind. For me, wellness is a commitment to being my best self while allowing myself the space and compassion for the process to take place.

Can you tell our readers a bit about yourself? 

I am Sonia Samtani, a woman on a conscious journey with a mission to empower individuals to move from judgment to acceptance.

Professionally, I am a speaker, a best-selling author, an award-winning ‘wellpreneur’, a therapist, a hypnotherapy trainer, and the founder of Hong Kong’s leading wellness facility, the All About You Wellness Centre.  

I am a strong believer in lifelong learning and development. I am a licensed clinical hypnotherapist, certified hypnotherapy and NLP Trainer, qualified life coach and counsellor, Certified Family Constellation Facilitator, licensed Transpersonal Regression Therapist, two-time TEDx speaker, and former Senior Mentor with Tony Robbins.  I am currently deepening my knowledge in trauma with another diploma course, and aim to continue enhancing my skills for as long as I work.

I deliver concepts that are scientifically backed and spiritually supported, and I’m privileged to be a well-recognised speaker on mental health in Hong Kong. 

I have impacted over 25,000 people to date through individual sessions or seminars.  Often in as little as one session, I have been successful in permanently resolving deep-rooted and debilitating issues.  I have been in the mental health industry for over 16 years much before it became mainstream, and I am delighted to see how recent times have made people more receptive to looking inwards.

What does wellness mean to you?

Wellness to me is about having a healthy mind. I believe that our mind is the gateway to our wellness. Our life today is a consequence of all the decisions we have made, and all those decisions are made mentally with a healthy or unhealthy state of mind.  The healthiest approach to wellness is not to have a mindset of ‘fixing’ something, which presupposes that we are broken.  It’s about having a mindset of acceptance and growth.  Wellness is not about being the best version of ourselves, It’s about loving, accepting, and understanding the darkest parts of ourselves with a commitment to keep growing and moving forward.

I am inspired by so many women; when a woman takes conscious action that makes a difference to the community I would call her a woman of wellness. I look up to my student who is showing so much compassion towards Ukraine right now, to Oprah Winfrey for the boldness and authentic way she speaks her truth, to Dr Shefali Tsabery for inspiring women to move beyond the ego and need to be liked, to my friend for channelling her inner-strength to move forward from her trauma from giving birth to her stillborn baby, to the refugees that I have had the privilege of meeting who have experienced the darkest forms of torture I have known and are fighting for their rights, to Anita Moorjani for spreading the message of love and peace after Near Death Experience, and the list could go on.

Can you tell our readers a bit about yourself? 

I am a mother of two young boys, a pre & post-natal personal trainer, yoga instructor, and podcast host. I also manage the Women’s Health Gym Team at Joint Dynamics Evolve in Hong Kong – the first of its kind multi-disciplinary Women’s Health Space that guides women’s journeys through menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum, peri-menopause and beyond. 

What does wellness mean to you?

Wellness is everything – its physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional health. Being well focuses not just on the food we eat and where they are sourced from, but the products we put on our and our children’s skin, how we treat the environment and where we allocate our energy. I don’t believe we can do things in extreme or be 100% at all times because that is unrealistic and unsustainable. From motherhood, meditating and managing staff, I strive to be on an even fair footing in all aspects of my life.

Women in wellness you look up to:

Bhakti Wong is a pre and postnatal yoga instructor and somatic therapist based here in Hong Kong. She has been popular in the pre-postnatal world and someone I’ve looked up to because she is so calm and compassionate. She is a mentor of mine, both personally and professionally. She has been pivotal in touching so many women’s lives as they go through their motherhood transitions and that’s something that I strive to do as well.

Dee Cheung is another mother in my network, who has blended all of her worlds together so well, from bringing float therapy to Hong Kong and moving from the yoga and fitness world to the insurance world, whilst helping mothers bring babies into the world as a doula.
