#RadarReview: Champagne Boizel Society Makes Its Southeast Asian Debut in Singapore

Singapore’s rise as a global gourmet capital is undeniable. From Michelin-starred dining rooms to cutting-edge cocktail bars, the city-state continues to captivate travelers with its ever-evolving food and wine scene. The latest chapter in this story unfolded high above the skyline where the Champagne Boizel Society made its Southeast Asian debut at SUSHISAMBA.

On the 52nd floor of the Japanese–Latin American restaurant, Florent Roques-Boizel, Chief Executive Officer of family-owned Champagne Boizel, reminded guests that champagne has always been about quality over quantity. His visit marked a milestone: SUSHISAMBA was named the Boizel Society’s first recipient in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Founded in 2024, the Champagne Boizel Society recognizes extraordinary places where food, wine, and conviviality meet in meaningful harmony. Singapore, joining as only the third country in the world to host this honor, showcases its position as a destination where gastronomy and culture thrive. The Society’s ambassadors are selected not only for their excellence but also for their ability to celebrate joy—qualities embodied by SUSHISAMBA where Head Sommelier Vikneswaran Koonnusagaran has now been appointed as a Champagne Boizel Ambassador.

For the sixth-generation-led Champagne Boizel, champagne is a symbol of human connection, a way to bring people together in shared pleasure. Established in 1834, the maison was recently named among the world’s top 50 champagne houses by La Revue du Vin de France.

Travelers keen to discover the spirit of Boizel in its purest form can visit Atelier 1834 in Épernay. Located on the famed Rue de Champagne, the newly refurbished space offers immersive tours and tastings, showcasing the craftsmanship and heritage of the house.

Looking ahead, Florent and his brother Lionel, Deputy Managing Director, are preparing for Champagne Boizel’s bicentenary in 2034, a celebration just nine years away.
