Just as film and music fans eagerly await the Golden Globes and the Grammys, culinary aficionados also count down to the unveiling of the 50 Best awards each year.
In 2025, anticipation heightens in early spring as Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants are revealed at a live ceremony on March 25 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul, South Korea.

Chef Gaggan Anand celebrates a great year as his Bangkok restaurant, Gaggan, claims the top spot on the list. Hot on its heels are two of Hong Kong’s finest, The Chairman at #2 and Wing at #3.

Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn’s Nusara in Bangkok continues its strong run, holding firm at #6, while Chef Julien Royer’s Odette in Singapore follows closely at #7. Meanwhile, Potong by Chef Pichaya “Pam” Utharntharm once again proves the chef’s excellence, securing the #13 spot.

This year is particularly thrilling for Bangkok and Tokyo as both cities dominate the list with nine restaurants each, reaffirming their status as Asia’s culinary powerhouses.
A deeply moving moment this year is the heartfelt tribute to the late Chef Margarita Forés, who has been posthumously honored with the Woodford Reserve Icon Award — a recognition of visionaries whose impact on the hospitality industry is celebrated worldwide.

Meanwhile, the title of Asia’s Best Female Chef 2025 is awarded to Chef Chudaree “Tam” Debhakam of Bangkok’s Baan Tepa (#44). She is celebrated for her groundbreaking approach to farm-driven Thai cuisine.
